DLIT Staff Reports

  • Eric Kunnen
    • Budget Review Process – Work on responding to the budget review process through adding narrative and responses to the questions and templates provided.  Sent inquiries to comparative colleges for benchmarking.
    • PDD – Work on completing the HR requirements for performance evaluation and learning plans.
    • DL CAP – Work on editing the distance learning strategic plan.
    • Created a web page for the Online Course Review Committee at:

    • Updated and edited page on i>Clickers at GRCC:
    • Bb SP8 Week 2 Ends – Emailed Faculty that are part of the Service Pack 8 faculty for updates.
    • Work on capturing student stories for Distance Learning at GRCC.
    • ADA Meeting – Attended a meeting assembled by Sarah Rose from the DSS Office with MW, MN, and GB.  Some highlights from the meeting include:
      • SLA – Will be submitted to IT Help for supporting students and troubleshooting technology
      • FAQs – Will be provided to DLIT by the DSS Office
      • Faculty Training Resources  – Will be included into OHCC with suggestions from DSS
      • Course Developer Needed – Staffing is needed around accessibility (as we are growing we have managed through heroic efforts, but additional staffing is essential to address ADA concerns) and this will be added to the DL CAP
      • Assistive Tech Position – DSS office is planning to put forth a staffing request for this position.
  • Meegan Willi
    • Attended the CTE Director Interview Presentations on May 10th
    • Facilitated the Friday OHCC Session on May 11th
    • Attended an ADA Meeting on May 14th
    • Updated DLIT About Us Page
    • Participating in the OHCC Discussion Board Forums – all week beginning May 14th
    • Provided feedback on the DLIT Budget Review Document
    • Assisted other faculty drop ins and emails and submitted tracking forms to– 4 faculty with questions related to Blackboard assessments, entering No Shows into PeopleSoft, removing old recordings from raidercast, and issues with PowerPoints in Blackboard.

      • Where do I find out what the class start dates are for the Computer Applications Certificate online courses?
      • I thought perhaps that maybe if I could take about a year’s worth of class under my belt. Please let me know what options I have and what kind of classes I could get credit for online through GRCC. Please also tell me, if you could, a ballpark estimate as to how much it would cost.
      • I am a past student at GRCC and am interested in doing an on-line course this summer. My question is: What steps do I need to take to get to the point where I can register for the class I want?  I’m not sure where to start -or who I should be contacting.
      • Hi I was wondering how the online courses actually work. I am enrolled for Child Psychology online for this summer starting next month and I was just wondering if there was an online portal I need to know about or if the teacher will email the class or anything.
