Flipped Classrom or Hybrid Learning – Szymon Machajewski

At a recent Donuts and Distance Learning & Blackboard and Bagels session, there was a focus on the “Flipped Classroom“.  Szymon Machajewski is a professor in the computer applications department at Grand Rapids Community College and he focuses on highlighting 6 strengths of the flipped classroom in his blog post.

1.    Lecture videos are recorded as tutorial presentations or in-class live lectures.
2.    Video lectures are available for viewing for viewing from home or mobile devices.
3.    Students can view past or future lectures
4.    Home instruction and activities are limited to viewing videos
5.    Activities requiring application of understanding and learning skills are performed in the classroom
6.    Classroom time is focused on learning actives or labs
