Blackboard Collaborate Pilot
As the Fall semester comes to an end, DLIT would like to announce that Blackboard Collaborate (Bb Collaborate) is now available for faculty and staff to use for our Winter 2012 pilot. Bb Collaborate is a web conferencing technology that is integrated into the Blackboard learning environment, and enables live online teaching such as: audio, video, application sharing, web tours, whiteboard, pollling, chat, breakout rooms.
Anyone with access to Blackboard is welcome to explore and use Collaborate. If you want to set up a session, log into one of your courses which is currently set as available. Go to Course Tools, and click on Blackboard Collaborate. Just click on Create Session and you are on your way!
Watch this video from BlackboardTV to learn a little bit more about the tool.
A training will be held using Blackboard Collaborate on January 17, 2012, Blackboard Collaborate Essentials: Web Conferencing. Participants will learn how to effectively manage the session communication tools, display PowerPoint content and record sessions for later playback. All faculty and staff who’d like to use Blackboard Collaborate are invited to attend. Registration is not necessary, and you can join the workshop from your very own desk. If you are interested in participating, please email firstname.lastname@example.org for the connection details.
