Bill Faber – Enhancing Departmental Document Management with Blackboard

Bill Faber is a Professor in the Physical Science Department at GRCC.

Increasing Departmental Document Management Efficiency

Our department has been using the ‘institutional’ content folder in Blackboard 9 to manage files for the past few semesters.  We have created folders such as ‘teaching schedules’, ‘course syllabi’ and ‘lab information’.

These same folders used to be placed on network drives and accessing that information was difficult, if not impossible when you weren’t on campus and logged into a campus computer.

Adjunct and full time faculty can now access and modify these files from any computer on or off campus.   Each semester I email a link to a video showing faculty how to access and upload files to these folders, and I also link the folders to our Physical Science departmental organization site in Blackboard.
