Lisa Price – Providing Anytime/Anywhere Access to Learning

Lisa Price is an Adjunct Professor in the Computer Applications Department at GRCC.

A 24/7 Course… Powered by Blackboard

As a faculty member in the Computer Apps Department, I am always looking for ways to streamline getting information to my students. I use Blackboard to post all of my class documents including the Syllabus, Class schedule, instructional and informational documents, and links to websites pertaining to the course.

Class information is accessible to the students 24/7!

All class assignments are posted in Blackboard so the students can easily review what is required for the course. I also time/date restrict them according to due dates. Students use Blackboard to submit their project files under the proper assignment link. The homework files are placed in the grade book which makes for easy grading. I can also post comments back to the students on their projects and email them right from the grade book. The uploaded files are time stamped and Blackboard identifies when projects are submitted late.

Providing Timely and Immediate Feedback to Students

Online quizzes are another useful tool in Blackboard, allowing the students to take the quizzes at their convenience. Upon submission, Blackboard grades them automatically and gives the students immediate feedback!

I also rely on the announcement page to get pertinent and timely information to the students between classes!
