Garry Brand – Using Jing Pro for Grading Feedback in Blackboard

Garry Brand is Professor in the Business Department. He teaches online/hybrid courses at GRCC, and also works in the Distance Learning and Instructional Technologies Department as a lead faculty professional development facilitator.

Jing for Grading Feedback and Student Communication

Last week, I used video to give students feedback. This time, I’m capturing the relevant part of the syllabus (participation rubric) and posting it to Flickr with Jing Pro. As I mentioned in a previous post, the new text editor for discussion board grading (Blackboard 9.1, SP3) allows me to add the embed code (generated automatically by Jing) or use the Flickr Mashup tool. See the example below:
